Angkor Eye

The Angkor Eye is an 85 metre tall ferris wheel, located just off highway 6 on the outskirts of Siem Reap. At the time of writing, the Angkor Eye is the tallest structure in Siem Reap. Surrounding the base of the wheel are several street food vendors and a childrens play area for younger children. The wheel looks impressive, especially when lit up at night, and many locals congregate here at night to eat and let their children play on the park at night.

Visitors can purchase tickets for the Eye at the kiosk, or online from their website. The Eye takes ABA pay and there are also a couple of nearby ATM’s for cash payments.

Angkor Eye Views

The wheel offers stunning vistas of the local area and the city of Siem Reap, especially if you are lucky enough to get on just before sunset. The name Angkor Eye is a little misleading, however, as you would be extremely lucky to catch a glimpse of the Angkor Wat Archaeological Site, even from the top.

Ticket Price

At $12USD per adult (12+) and $8USD per child for a ride lasting around 18 minutes – the Angkor Eye is certainly at the more expensive end of attractions in Siem Reap, especially when one considers that the bus from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap costs around $10USD and takes 7 hours.

Also, it worth noting that Cambodian nationals can purchase Q-Jump tickets, so if you intend on going on a public holiday, expect to wait, even if you have booked a time slot.

Location

The Angkor eye is located right on highway 6, next to the Cambodian Cultural Village. There is limited parking on the street outside, however, the easiest way to get there is to have a Tuk Tuk drop you off outside.
