Overview

Elia Greek Kitchen is located in an old colonial building in the “Pub Street” area of Siem Reap’s Old Town. Much of the downstairs restaurant area is taken up by the open kitchen, where patrons can watch the chefs prepare the fresh ingredients right before their eyes. The relatively small dining area is tastefully decorated and reminiscent of a small family run taverna in Greece, with its seating spilling out onto the adjoining street. There is also a second upstairs dining area, that offers elevated views of the passing traffic below.

The staff at Elia were attentive, helpful and efficient, despite being rushed off their feet. Coupled with the ambiance, and of course the food, this made for a very pleasurable evening.

Food and Drink

The menu is filled with plenty of authentic greek options, each perfectly prepared and delicious. For those that can’t decide what to order, one of the mixed platters provide the perfect sampler plate (for 2 or 4 persons). Opting for the mixed meat platter we were not disappointed. The dish, a giant platter of meat skewers, keftedes, sausages, served on a bed of the most perfectly cooked chips, and accompanied by pitta bread and a selection of homemade dips. The meat was cooked to perfection with the chips absorbing any escaped juices, ensuring that no flavour was lost. The accompanying dips paired perfectly with the rest of the plate and left us scraping the bottom of the pot in order to saveur every last morsel, the beetroot dip was especially delicious.

Elia Greek Kitchen’s vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options are extensive and cater for most types of special diet.

If meat is not your thing, Elia Kitchen highlights of the vegetarian option include; Dolmedes, stuffed marinated vine leaves, that burst with flavour; Saganaki, a deep fried feta cheese dish; and the Mixed Meze Plate for those that want to sample the different options.
