Urban Space Playground and Café in the Toul Kork area of Phnom Penh is the perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon with the kids. The cafe has a playground, pool and an indoor play area for the kids to explore, while the grown ups relax in the comfortable garden seating areas and cafe.
Entering the playground and cafe area from the road, visitors are greeted by a lovely green space, complete with various seating areas and a clean, tastefully decorated cafe. The place appears to be housed in an older building that has been repurposed, giving it an eclectic vibe, with the many of the rooms converted into teaching spaces and private dining areas.
The indoor play area and pool costs $5usd per child midweek and $7usd at weekends, less if you only want to use one of the facilities. Entry into the outdoor playground is free. It can get busy at weekends, so it’s worth calling ahead to reserve a table.
Urban Space Cafe Food and Drink
The food at Urban Space is a mixture of western and Khmer favourites, and is very well done considering it is a place primarily targeted at small children. There are plenty of options for the little ones, including meal sets (from $4.90), plus a good selection of grown up options. All in all, the cafe is very reasonably priced, with mains starting at around $5 per meal.
